NYFW | SHADES OF GREY BY MICAH COHEN

It’s not every day that Richard Haines, Bruce Pask, Nick Wooster and Jared Flint all attend a designer’s first Fashion Week presentation, but that’s exactly what happened yesterday at the successful showing for Shades of Grey by Micah Cohen. For this introductory presentation, Cohen put together a collection that lived up to its name – there were, indeed, shades of grey – but also one that played with a nautical color palate of greys, blacks and browns, classic American silhouettes and clean lines. Crisp, modern three piece suits and a stunning pea coat were favorites, but most notable were a hooded varsity bomber and the assortment of down outerwear, from blazers to vests. The styling, executed by T Magazine’s Jason Rider, was itself a high point – elevating each garment and brining to life the collection’s already soft, industrial feel. – M
